Gilbarco 296 (US 96C) Pump
Description
Very common pump in both Canada and the US. Gilbarco was owned by Imperial Oil Ltd. (Standard of New Jersey/ ESSO in the States) so their stations used Gilbarco pumps almost exclusively, plus they could be found at many other oil company stations as well. The only model I have seen in Canada is the 296A which was a model 96C in the US. Production started in 1938 and then likely would have been suspended for most of WW2. I can’t find any information on when production finally ended but probably not too long after the introduction of the model 996 in 1947.
